Art brings history to life Closing ceremony of the national leather handicraft event inspired by historical monuments

The national leather handicraft event, inspired by historical monuments on the Silk Road, concluded with the honoring of the winners and holding an exhibition of artists' works.

According to the Public Relations Department of Semnan University Science and Technology Park, the national leather handicraft event inspired by historical monuments on the Silk Road ended on June 25 and 26, 1404, with the honoring of the winners and the holding of an exhibition of artists' works. Davud Maddah, Head of Semnan University Science and Technology Park, announced the news and said: This creative industries event, with the aim of creating business opportunities for leather artists, promoting traditional Iranian arts, attracting the attention of tourists and people to historical monuments, strengthening the local economy, creating communication networks between artists, and promoting the culture of using products and handicrafts, began in December 1403 with the presence of officials from the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology and managers of executive agencies of Semnan province and with the unveiling of the event poster, during the Technology Research Week.

Referring to the special support of Semnan University Park for creative industries, he said: This event was planned at the suggestion of Edim Kara Atrin Company to the CEO of Ms. Ziba Eslami, a company active in the leather sector and located in Semnan University Science and Technology Park, and private and government organizations came to work in organizing and implementing this huge event. Ziba Eslami, the executive secretary of the event, explained the event: The national leather handicraft event was planned in 3 special, open and public sections; in the special section, artists had to use images of historical monuments of Semnan as the capital of the Silk Road; in the public section, images of historical monuments of Silk Road cities; and in the open section, they could use all images of historical monuments in their handicrafts. Eslami continued: With extensive advertising, artists from all over the country became aware of the event and the conditions for registering and submitting valuable works, and they had more than 3 months to produce their valuable works and send them to the event secretariat at the Semnan University Science and Technology Park. The executive secretary of the event added: This event was widely welcomed by artists from all over the country and more than one hundred valuable works and handicrafts were received from the artists. From among the works, expert judges selected 3 winners from each section and one student winner, who were honored and celebrated at the closing ceremony of the event.

In the end, the head of the University Science and Technology Park thanked the artists, enthusiasts, and provincial officials for the welcome and large attendance and announced the names of the winners of the various sections: Special section winners, Sharara Yazdanparast and Alireza Zia-Arabshahi, first place; Khadija Zamani, second place; Fatemeh Ziaran Taheri, third place; General section winners, Azam Mali, first place; Kimia Beigi, second place; Marzieh Hosseini, third place; Free section winners, Maryam and Manijeh Rahakou, first place; Maryam Soroush Tabar, second place; Nazanin Rosti, third place; And the winners of the student section are Elmira Ebrahimi, Negin Niazi, Sara Saberi and Saba Zaminpardaz as a team.

Davudmadah also added: In the section of works worthy of appreciation of the national event of leather handicrafts inspired by historical monuments, Meysam Abbasi, Farshad Naderan, Zahra Mahdian, Nussibeh Qabakhlu, Somayeh Zaghari, Fatemeh Sedghi, Behnaz Safamanesh, Atena Farsad, Sepideh Ghorbani Nejad, Leila Ejazi, Seyedeh Fatemeh Mortazavi, Amir Akhund Eqli, Omid Ebrahim Khani, and Professor Seyed Abolfazl Mousavi were introduced and honored.
